Last time I looked, the colors of thge American flag are Red, White and Blue, which might be appropriate for an American team.

I like reverse grids at the local dirt track on Saturday night. It has no place in professional levels of motorsport.

Perhaos being comfortable is not such a great thing. Cohesion in a losing endeavor is worth nothing - just means that needed desention is bing quashed for the "greater good" where new energy of fresh ideas is put aside for harmony. The reason mega teams go through talented members, and eventually dissapate, is that success comes from dynamic energy, disagreement, and embracing disharmony as a path to fresh thinking. Binotto is not equipped for that.. and the results show that his harmony is useless. Racing s about winning, which is, itself, not a product of comfort, but real passion and conflict, which is rarely described as harmonious.

Ferrari is the wrong team for Vettel, At RBR, they included him in their process, appreciated his input, allowed him to contribute and provide feedback. Ferrari wants its drivers to keep their mouth shut, drive the junk they build, attend meetings on call, obey and cower at the feet of the great Ferrari. Leclerc has no clue, so is compliant. Vettel has won more races and championships than Ferrari in the last 16 years, driven cars suoerior to Ferrari, designed by folks well beyond Ferrari's current skill set - but has been set aside as an employee. A bad relationship, a poor race team, horrible management, and a real shame all around. Will say that where Vettel has not had a lot of lucky breaks in his career, Leclerc is one of the luckiest kids on the grid. Won't win him any championships in red, but will keep his star alive until he can find a ride that will get him the ultimate prize.

Apparently, the directive is to have the drivers in Maranello to work closely with the Engineers, so that the "... new machine will be born with them." Vettel would most certainly not comply with that, and made that known, creating an impass. That demand led to an ultimatim, which led to Vettel refusing to comply with their salary give-back, among other signs of discontent. A typical executive commandment. Explains why they did not make an offer, why he apparently could not care less, and why they chose Sainz who could readily comply by moving close to the factory as he did for McLaren -and why they mmediately favoring Leclerc, who lives in nearby Monaco. Chosing drivers based on their commuting distance, turning against a 4 time champ in hand, and backing a failed team principal as the team sinks backward into the mid field.. all signs of Ferrari leadership brilliance.
